Stepway Plus released

Stepway

In celebration of the marked success of its Sandero range over the past decade, Renault South Africa has now introduced the new enhanced Sandero Stepway Plus, set to replace the current flagship model. Since its inception in 2009, the Sandero has evolved with numerous quality features and styling enhancements, including the introduction of the first generation top-of-the-range Sandero Stepway in 2011.

The Sandero enjoys increasing success with sales of over 58,000 units to date, a notable achievement considering its competitors, such as the Volkswagen Polo Vivo, Ford Figo, Toyota Etios and Hyundai Grand i10. The Stepway model has also proven extremely popular, with sales in excess of 26,000 cars since its introduction.

Externally, the new Stepway Plus is distinguished from its lesser Sandero siblings through bespoke design and badging with 16-inch two-tone flex wheel covers and gloss black door mirrors with a distinctive red line. It is also available in three new body colours.

Besides a class-leading range of safety systems, the Stepway Plus offers newly designed upholstery, side airbags, rear park assist, and rear parking camera, cruise control, and a MediaNav multimedia and navigation system with seven-inch touchscreen, Smartphone Mirroring, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as standard. Leather seats is a R10k option.

The Stepway Plus, like the rest of the range, is powered by a 900 cc three-cylinder turbo petrol engine (66 kW and 135 Nm) and Renault claims a fuel consumption rate of 5.4 ℓ/100 km and CO² emissions of 124 g/km. The new Sandero Stepway Plus is now available with a retail price of R213,900, excluding options.
