EcoSport revamped

The revised bestseller of Ford is now available.

The revamped Ford EcoSport crossover is now available locally. Its predecessor that sold over 45,000 units, have been sold locally since 2013. The revised bestseller now sports a new rectangular grille, lower front valence, and new headlights, as well as newly designed rear lights.

The Kuga-like design of the newcomer, with a full-sized spare wheel on the rear door, is complemented by an interior sourced from the latest Fiesta. It includes a newly designed steering wheel, a floating Sync 3 infotainment screen (6,5-inch on Trend and eight-inch on Titanium variants) with Bluetooth and voice-control features, more safety features (including Roll Stability Control in the EcoBoost models), and 334 litres of boot space.

Three trim levels – the entry-level Ambiente with 16-inch steel wheels, mid-spec Trend with gunmetal 16-inch alloys, and the flagship Titanium with 17-inch alloy wheels – are offered. The Trend is available with a 1,5-litre turbodiesel (74 kW and 205 Nm of torque) and five-speed manual gearbox, while a 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine (92 kW and 170 Nm) is available in all the derivatives. The petrol models are available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing range from R264 500 for the 1,5-litre Trend diesel, R287 500 for the 1,0-litre EcoBoost Trend manual, R300 700 for the auto model, and up to R339 900 for the Titanium auto derivative. All models come standard with a four-year/120,000 km warranty, four-year/60,000 km service plan, three-year/unlimited distance roadside assistance, and five-year/unlimited kilometres corrosion warranty.
