Mazda updates its compact SUV contender
Mazda Southern Africa has updated its successful CX-3 compact SUV with some interior and exterior enhancements. Design improvements include the front fog lamp bezel colour changed back to black, up-styled 18-inch alloy wheels and the Mazda grill refined to consist of fewer, more pronounced lines.
Representing the next level of the Mazda premium colour palette, Soul Red Crystal is now available across the range and LED rear combination lamps are now available for the Individual and Individual Plus derivatives. Inside, a front centre console armrest and an electric parking brake (EPB) are introduced from the Active derivative, while a rear centre seat armrest with cup holders and automatic dimming rear view mirror are available from the Dynamic derivatives upwards. The Individual and Individual Plus models now come standard with full leather seat upholstery.
The model line-up remains unchanged with six derivatives that feature the Mazda two-litre Skyactive petrol engine (115 kW and 206 Nm) mated with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. No diesel derivative is available.
Prices for the range now start at R292,700 for the CX-3 2,0-litre Active with a manual gearbox, and R313,000 for the auto version, while the Dynamic versions are available for R322,300 and R334,300 respectively, the Individual model is available for R384,600 and the flagship Individual Plus for R399,200. This includes a three-year factory warranty, a three-year roadside assistance, and a five-year corrosion warranty, backed up by a three-year unlimited kilometre service plan.
