A top-of-the-line M-badged version has now joined the BMW X2 line-up. The launch of the X2 M35i sees the extrovert design of the compact Sports Activity Coupé link up with an extremely powerful four-cylinder petrol engine.
The 2.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo unit delivers 225 kW of power and 450 Nm of torque, enough to see the M-badged X2 accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in five seconds. Power is transferred to the road via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, including Launch Control, and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. An M Sport braking system and mechanical M Sport differential at the front axle also plays its part in endowing the flagship X2 with sporting prowess.
Its sporty aspiration is also reflected in an exciting exterior design with numerous M Performance elements based on the X2 M Sport Package. At the rear, the X2 M35i boasts a distinctive M rear spoiler and a M Sport exhaust system.
The interior features an M Sport steering wheel with shift paddles as standard, while front M Sports seats and a full-colour Head-Up Display are optional. If desired, the latest generation of BMW ConnectedDrive and the new BMW Connected App can be fitted. Driver assistant systems include camera-based technologies such as the traffic jam assistant for less tiring driving in dense stop-and-go traffic or the optional parking assistant. Pricing for the X2 M35i starts from R809,100.
