Ford Motor Company has done an early revision of its Kuga-model line-up launched late last year by dropping the luxury Titanium specification in favour of the exciting new ST-Line for the powerful 2.0-litre EcoBoost and TDCi models. The range also gains a competitive new offering in the frugal 88 kW 1.5 TDCi turbodiesel models, available in Ambiente and Trend specification levels, with its engines matched to a six-speed manual gearbox. According to Ford the ST-Line offers customers greater choice of styling and specification as part of the comprehensive Kuga line-up.
The ST-Line stands out from the rest thanks to a high-gloss black finish for the front grille, a striking honeycomb design for the lower grille, and matching sports mesh finish on the fog lamp bezels. Colour coding for the body kit incorporates the front skid plate, side skirts, mirrors, door handles, rear roof spoiler, and wheel arches, and contrasts with a black rear diffuser, black roof rails, tinted front and rear lights, and privacy glass for the rear windows.
The cabin ambience has a dynamic flair thanks to partial leather sport seats with contrasting stitching for the seats, steering wheel, and gear lever gaiter. Chassis enhancements incorporate optimised suspension and steering, benefitting from thicker anti-roll bars, a 10 mm lower ride height, stiffer suspension bushes, fine-tuned spring and damper rates, and revised calibration for the steering system. The Kuga ST-Line models are priced at R548.000 for the 2.0 EcoBoost AWD auto and R566,900 for the 2.0 TDCi AWD auto.
