Suzuki Vitara upgraded

Suzuki is celebrating three decades of Vitara success with the introduction of a refreshed model range with even more creature comforts. Suzuki will also introduce turbocharged Boosterjet engine technology later this year when a derivative powered by the 1.4-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol engine arrives.

A fresh front-end design, new alloy wheel options, and revised rear styling elements with new LED light clusters distinguish the upgraded Vitara from its predecessor. Clear headlamp clusters now flank the redesigned grille with horizontal slats and a large Suzuki S-badge. At the rear, LED lights mimic the daytime running lights in the front.

The upper instrument panel is now made from soft-touch materials and the GLX has new luxury seat trim material. The GL+ and GLX models have a new 4.2 inch full colour LCD information display and the Smart Linkage Display Audio system features smartphone integration and Bluetooth connectivity.

For the GL+ and GLX spec levels, climate control, cruise control, a multifunction steering, all-round electric windows, and chrome detailing have been added and the GLX also has keyless access with push-button Start/Stop, a panoramic sunroof, and chromed roof rails.

The Vitara is powered by a 1.6 VVT petrol engine (86 kW and 156 Nm) mated to a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox and either front-wheel drive or adaptive AllGrip all-wheel-drive system. Despite the new look and additional features, prices have not been increased and it ranges from R281 900 for the GL manual to R374 900 for the GLX AllGrip manual.
