The hugely successful Mercedes-Benz V-Class has recently been facelifted with a restyled and striking front-end and the introduction of the OM 654 four-cylinder diesel engine generation in the range and the 9G-TRONIC auto transmission were made available for the first time.
Besides a new bumper design, the radiator grille now has a new diamond structure with the Mercedes star framed by two silver slats. The Avantgarde and Exclusive lines continue, and the AMG Line now features a new diamond grille with chrome pins for a sportier look. New wheel designs form part of the package.
Inside, the new V-Class follows the trend of modernity and clarity with a new turbine air-vent design and new dials in the instrument cluster. A total of six different upholsteries is available, while the optional luxury seats for the first row now offer a fully reclining function, back massage, and acclimatisation.
The new V-Class is now equipped with the four-cylinder OM 654 diesel engine with outputs that vary from 140 kW/440 Nm (V250 d) to 176 kW/500 Nm (V300 d) with an additional 30 Nm of torque (“overtorque”) available for short periods. This means the V300 d can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km/h.
The 9G-TRONIC auto transmission with Dynamic Select driving modes are now available as standard for the V300 d and 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive is available as an option. The new V-Class will be available locally from next month, but pricing has not yet been revealed.
