Dark Label

Over 30,000 Amarok pickups have been sold in South Africa since launch in 2010, and now Volkswagen has added a special edition model, the Dark Label, to the range. From the outside the Amarok Dark Label distinguishes itself from the rest with a locally-sourced MAXE matt black styling bar, ‘Amarok’ lettering, door handles and exterior mirrors in matt black.

Its grille with dark chrome lacquered ledges has matt black front protection, and the Dark Label also sports tinted rear windows, blacked-out B-pillars, black side sills, ‘Dark Label’ décor film on the sides, smoked taillights, and new 18-inch ‘Rawson’ alloy wheels.

Inside, the Dark Label has new black ‘Greenhouse’ headlining, Vienna leather seats, silk glance chrome air vent borders, and floor mats embroidered with ‘Dark Label’ lettering. Standard features include bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, front and rear park distance control, a tyre pressure monitor, a Plus multi-function on-board computer, Composition Media infotainment system, app-connect with voice control, and a multi-function steering wheel.

Additionally, the Dark Label can be customised with optional features such as seat heating (winter package), a heavy-duty suspension, a rear-view camera, Climatronic air-conditioning, a Discover Media infotainment system (including satellite navigation) and rubber floor covering for the cab and passenger compartment.

It is powered by the tried and tested 2.0 BiTDi engine that generates 132 kW and 420 Nm of torque paired with an eight-speed auto transmission and permanent four-wheel drive. The Amarok Dark Label 2.0 BiTDI 132 kW 4Motion Auto now retails for R674 600.
