Entry-level Renault limited edition
Renault has taken its affordable mobility offer a step higher with the addition of a limited-edition model in its entry-level Kwid-range. Limited to 200 units, the new SUV-inspired Kwid Climber offers 180 mm ground clearance, enhanced exterior styling, and vibrant interior finishing.
The Kwid Climber is available with Dynamique trim level and striking two-tone exterior in either Electric Blue or Planet Grey. Besides Kwid Climber insignia, it has distinctive protection cladding on the doors, rugged bumper over-riders, arching rails with orange accents on the roof, and muscular style wheels.
Inside it has a piano black centre fascia with orange contours, Climber insignia on the headrests of the two-tone seats, and orange accents on the door trims, side air vents, the two-tone gear knob, and the sporty steering wheel.
Equipment include a standard air-condition, electric front windows, an airbag for the driver seat, and on-board MediaNav multi-media system with 18 cm touchscreen display, radio, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Powered by a compact 1.0-litre three-cylinder Smart Control efficiency (SCe) petrol engine delivering 50 kW at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 91 Nm at 4,250 rpm, it enables fuel efficiency from only 4.7 l/100 km, according to Renault.
The Climber joins the recently released Kwid AMT derivative to complement the current Expression and Dynamique manual models. The Kwid Climber is priced at R148,900, and this include comprehensive insurance for the first year, and a standard five-year/150 000 km mechanical warranty and six-year anti-corrosion warranty.
