TOYOTA INTRODUCES FLAGSHIP GRADE
The Toyota C-HR range, launched locally in February last year, has now been extended with a new range topping model that offers more in the way of style, comfort, convenience, and safety specification. The addition of the aptly-named Luxury grade model brings the derivative tally to four: Standard, Plus, Plus CVT, and Luxury.
Distinguishing the Luxury model from the standard and Plus derivatives is an expressive bi-tone design with a black roof, roof-pillars, and side-mirrors creating a striking two-tone effect. The black upper section can be combined with four exterior colours – White pearl, Cinnabar red metallic, Lunar metallic (a smoked silver hue) or Caribbean blue – to create a C-HR that suits the personality of the individual. Customers can also opt for a black exterior paired with a white roof.
Unique smoked rear tail lamps and full-LED main and fog lamps, plus Daytime Running Lights (DRL), is fitted, as well as stylish 18-inch alloy wheels (shared with the Plus derivative). Convenience items include electrically adjustable lumbar support, a keyless entry system with push-button start, Park Distance Control (PDC), and Intelligent Parking Assist (IPA).
The C-HR Luxury retains the 8NRFTS 1.2-litre turbocharged engine with VVTi-W, direct injection, flexible engine cycle switching, and smart heat
management delivering 85 kW and 185 Nm of torque. In the Luxury model it is exclusively mated to a CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) with seven predefined gear ratios. The Luxury model has nine airbags with the addition of driver knee, curtain, and side airbags, and is now available for R422,100 .
