HYUNDAI REVAMPS ITS SUV RANGES

Hyundai has released facelifted versions of its popular Tucson and Creta SUV ranges with revised exterior styling, more interior equipment, updated connectivity and (in the case of the Tucson, of which over 13,600 units have been sold since its launch in 2016) a revised model line-up introducing an Executive specification level.

The new Tucson models has a revised grille and front air intake with slimmer horizontal slats and diamond-shaped inserts, as well as amended projector type headlights and front fog lights with chrome surrounds in an altered front valance. At the rear the taillights have also been revised and made smaller, with reflectors that are now higher placed, while the rear valance and scuff plates are now lower.

The line-up now consists of seven models, including two Executive derivatives, with two-litre petrol power (115 kW/196 Nm), 1,6-litre turbo petrol power (130 kW/265 Nm) or two-litre turbodiesel (131 kW/400 Nm). Convenience features include push button start, electric seats, climate control, glove box cooling, LED side mirror repeater, rear air vents, Rear Parking Assist sensors, rear view camera, seven-inch infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof.

Pricing of the revised line-up ranges from R399,900 for the Tucson 2.0 NU Premium to R569,900 for the Tucson R2.0 Elite Dsl AT. Similarly, the popular Creta (with over 8 000 units sold since last year) now sports a more prominent grille with chrome surrounds, and revised lights and valances front and rear. It also has slightly higher specification levels, including leather seats, air vents in the rear and an eight-inch infotainment system with optional navigation for R2,522 extra. The Creta 1,6 Executive is now available for R339,900, the 1.6 Executive AT for R359,900 and the 1.6 Executive Dsl AT for R399,900.
