Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has quietly introduced an entry-level 1.0 TSI-model derivative of the popular Caddy. The second-best selling model in VW Commercial Vehicles’ range, the Caddy combines space efficiency and affordable running costs.
Currently in its fourth generation, the Caddy has become a preferred choice for private buyers and fleet operators since introduction in South Africa in 2015 and the 1.0 TSI Trendline joins the 2.0 TDI Trendline, the seven-seater Caddy Maxi, and Caddy Alltrack models in the range.
At R306,300, the 1.0 TSI Trendline Caddy offers great value for potential customers. It adds standard features such as a Composition Media radio with touchscreen, 16-inch ‘Bendigo’ alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, air conditioning system, multi-function display, roof rails, front fog lights with static cornering light, and daytime running lights.
The Trendline can also be customised with optional features such as Park Distance Control, cruise control, dark-coloured tail lights, removable tow bar, Bi-xenon headlamps with separate LED daytime running lights, and blacked-out tail lights, multi-function leather steering wheel, and rear wing doors.
Power output of the new 1.0 TSI Trendline is 75 kW and the three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, with 175 Nm of peak torque, is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The new Caddy comes standard with a three-year/60,000 km Genuine AutoMotion Service Plan, three-year/120,000 km warranty, and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty.
