New Renault Sandero
In celebration of the success of its Sandero range in the sub-B segment, with over 52,000 sales to date against tough competition, including the likes of the VW Polo Vivo, Ford Figo, Toyota Etios, Suzuki Ignis and Hyundai Grand i10, Renault has introduced a new derivative, replacing the current Sandero Stepway Dynamique.
With the release of the Stepway Plus, the Sandero range takes on a slightly different construct. The Expression remains the entry level model, followed by the mid-level Stepway Expression, with the new model now leading the line-up. The limited edition Stepway Plus is distinguished by bespoke design and badging with specific two-tone 16-inch flex wheel covers and features two exclusive new body colours, Dune Beige and Cosmos Blue. It offers the same standard features as the outgoing Dynamique – side airbags, front and rear power windows, electric side mirrors, a leather steering wheel and gear knob, and rear park assist. Cruise control and navigation are also standard (unique in this segment), while leather seats are an option. It also has the Renault MediaNav integrated on-board multimedia system with seven-inch touchscreen and Rear Parking Camera.
Like the other models, the Stepway Plus is powered by the Renault three-cylinder 900 cc petrol-turbo engine delivering 66 kW and 135 Nm torque, mated with a manual five-speed gearbox. Renault offers it with a five-year/150 000 km warranty and a standard two-year/30 000 km service plan and is priced at R206 900.
